PSHE & RSE
Our PSHE curriculum is designed to give every child the emotional intelligence, resilience, and practical life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. From navigating their first friendships in Year 1 to exploring the complexities of AI literacy in Year 6, we empower our pupils to be kind, safe, and responsible global citizens.
Our Curriculum at a Glance
Our PSHE program is a spiral curriculum, meaning we revisit key themes each year—building depth and understanding as our pupils grow.
Core Themes of Learning
-
Mental Health & Wellbeing: This is a thread that runs through every year group, helping children identify their emotions and develop a toolkit for self-care and resilience.
-
Staying Safe: We cover safety in all its forms, including safety at home, outside the home, and—critically—staying safe in the digital world.
-
Relationships: Pupils learn how to form respectful relationships, understand boundaries, and celebrate the diversity of families and communities.
-
Living in the Wider World: We tackle modern challenges head-on, including money management, news literacy, and even AI literacy to prepare Year 6 for a tech-driven future.
Developing Future-Ready Citizens
We know the importance of supporting children's academic progress and readying them for the next phase of their education. However, we also place great importance on teaching children how to navigate the world beyond school. Through PSHE, we ensure that when our pupils leave us, they are not only academically capable but are also compassionate, confident, and ready for the future.
