King's Wood Parent and Teacher Association
Who are we, and what do we do?
We are a group of parents and teachers who organise fundraising events to help raise funds for the children, with the objective being to advance the education of children in the school.
Since Winter 2017, we have been fundraising to create an outdoor learning space and a sensory garden for all children and staff to enjoy and learn from, this is also a wellbeing project.
Some of our fundraising events have been the Elf Shop, Winter Bazaar, Santa’s Grotto, Xmas cards and mugs sale, Leavers Hoodies, Summer Fetes, Raffles, Spring Egg Trail, Pumpkin Trail, Clothes Collections, Non-uniform days, Cakes Sales. These events are much loved by the children, however they cannot happen without the help and support of parents.
The PTA is a registered charity. The committee is made up of a Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary and 2 committee members. We have non committee member parents who like to attend meetings, help with events and help with any other bits needed. We encourage parents to have an input, and get involved any way they can. Our annual meeting (AGM) is held in November. The PTA, Mrs Freeman and Erika (Family Liaison manager], usually meet at least twice a term.
It really great being a part of the PTA, you get to be a part of the school, and be involved in fun activities and amazing projects. It would be really great to have you on board. Please let me know your thoughts. If you have any questions please feel free to message me any time. I would be happy to help. Nadia – PTA Chair Person
