School Closure / Self Isolation
Things continue to change at a pace with the operation of school during the Coronavirus pandemic. We are carefully monitoring the advice given by Government and the Local Authority to help us make safe decisons to welcome back pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 to school. Currently, we have children from all classes in those year groups attending part time and we will soon be offering places to Nursery children as well. The risk assessment and letters below give more details about how this is being done.
We are also seeing quite an increase in the uptake of places for children of key-worker parents and children who are vulnerable. We are up to three groups currently, and this may have to expand again in the future. Please be assured that we are using our resources (staffing and space) carefully and increasing capacity where we can. We will continue to update you as the situation unfolds.
A number of parents have told us that they would appreciate some virtual learning opportunites for their children from our teachers. We are in the process of installing Google Classrooms across our system, and will be rolling out staff training in the near future. We will keep you informed about our progress with this.
The Children's Commisioner in the government has produced this guide to coronavirus for children.
We have put together work files and resources for each year group to enable them to continue with English, Maths, Topic and Science work. There are also lots of apps and websites listed which they may enjoy using. Please choose activities which you feel to be manageable and which your child will enjoy. We are not suggesting that children should try to follow a "school timetable" or complete all of the work , but it would be good for them to try some of it - please just do what you think is best for your child. Resources will be added to each week, so please keep checking. Please click on the links below.
Here we can see which year groups are doing best at trying to keep up with their learning ... really well done Y2 & Y6!
Obviously, learning at home is different from learning at school and hopefully you're finding time to try new activities too, but it would be great to get even more work coming in so we can show everyone how well you're doing!
Keep up the good work!
